NAMI to present Aurus car with hydrogen engine at EEF

MOSCOW, Aug 23 (PRIME) -- Russia’s state Central Scientific Research Automobile and Automotive Engines Institute (NAMI) will present the Aurus luxurious car running on hydrogen fuel during the upcoming Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), a spokesperson for the Aurus producer told PRIME on Monday.

“Aurus will take part in the EEF, which is the key business even in the Far East and one of the key forums of Russia, for the first time, and it is obviously an important event for our brand. The Aurus showroom will demonstrate two cars: the stock edition of the Senat model and the advanced development of NAMI – the Aurus running on hydrogen fuel,” the spokesperson said.

NAMI is also working on the electric and hybrid editions of the Aurus car simultaneously with the hydrogen one, the person added.

Mass production of Aurus Senat cars started in the republic of Tatarstan’s city of Yelabuga on May 31. Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov did a test-drive of a laboratory prototype of the hydrogen-burning Aurus car then, and he said that the stock edition of the car should be developed until 2024.

The Eastern Economic Forum will take place in Vladivostok from September 2 through September 4.
